Alien Adventure 2009

In December of 2009, I was looking for something that would get my students writing. Thinking about how my 5th grade students enjoy socializing with each other (even when they shouldn't), the ePals Global Community came to mind. I signed up a couple of years of go, but hadn't done anything special with it. So, I dusted off my account information, entered the site, and keyed in a description of my class and what kind of interaction, I wanted for my students. That's when Cal Rains from South Korea, and his students came into our lives. Cal had a global project he was wanted to start up and was looking for interested teachers. I signed up for the adventure and soon a partnership was born. Cal continued looking for teachers for the adventure and I started creating the project's "web site" using Blackboard. By February 20010 we were up and running - with 13 teachers from 11 different countries participating.
